Drill: My Version of a Writing Bureau

I made the plan in Sketch-up and started building it 2nd week of October. My bestfriend, who by the way is my #1 SUPPORTER, MARKETER, and everything -ER, showed her Grandma a picture of the bookcase that I built around July for our office and because she is a very efficient salesman, she amazingly was able to convince her granny that I am "amazing" cause her Grams asked her if I could build her a table. I of course went berserk when she told me. I am still an amateur in this craft and her Grandma has very high tastes. I wanted to say NO since I wasn't sure if the output can pass her taste. hehehe But Grandparents are my Achilles heels and to make the story short, I agreed to make her a desk for FREE of course. The moment she told her Grams I'll build her the table, her Grandma immediately ordered and delivered the plywood to my best friend's house. Oh yes, she was that excited! :D
For days, I drove back and forth to my best friend's place to spend 2-3 hrs of build time for this desk. :)
I hope she likes her new desk cause it's a labor of love! ♥

What's on my sketchpad?

Today, I was introduced to "Croquis" and "Paint.net". ;))
Thanks to Alana of Lazy Stitching's wonderful tutorial and Designers Nexus FREE Template (Oh yes, free Croqui and it's very pretty too!),  I spent my entire morning making my "ala" sketchpad moodboard. :)
I'm making another Grainline's tanktop because one ain't enough if you live in a tropical country. Really, I just love my grainline top that I think it's one of my BEST online pattern purchases everrr!. :)

Sew: I ♥ Tanks!

Finally, I made something I can wear. TADA!!!!

Fabric: 1.5m Alpha Geena (the cheapest silky-ish fabric i can find)
Cost: Php 70.00 + Php 203 for the Pattern ($6)
Time Invested: 7 hrs

I spent almost 7 hours in this project. Oh yes, that's right... S-E-V-E-N hours!!! :(About 3 hrs pressing and ripping wrong stitches. hehe  I stitched the sleeve binding twice coz it didnt look right to me at first. And then, after  I ripped and restitched the sleeves, I checked Grainline's tutorial and realized that my FIRST try was correct. HELLO again seam ripper! :))) Though I made a few mistakes, the outcome was all worth it and I made a new friend, Mr. Seam Ripper!LOL! Anyway, I love how it fits me. But that isn't me in the photo...that's my little sister! ;)) The stitches are still amateurish. And to prove how amateur I am in this....

See how much pins I used for a really small pocket?HAHAHAHA Oh, well, I got PIN-HAPPY! :)

Sew: Old Shirt REfashion

I made this for my 4 yr old niece. It was a little tight for her though. ;))

Drill: Workout Bench

My first woodworking piece!!!
Wood: Red Lawa-an
Cost: Php 2,500 ($57)
Time Invested: 10 -20 hrs

Tools: Jigsaw, Hammer, SanderI made it for my little brother around February '11. But I bought all my tools a year ago and got a little scared to use them, then by fate, I came across ANA WHITE's Blog while searching for easier plans to start with. Easy would mean FREE, no complicated joinery and one that my Jigsaw can rip w/o any difficulty. Anyway, Ana White is one amazing lady! Do check her blog for a huge selection of free plans. :)

The Sewing List

I'll make a list and i'm gonna keep it short cause i will try my best to accomplish them.
