About Me

Hi, My name is Lhynx and I'm from the Philippines.
I’m only good in beginnings. Which explains why in a span of 2 years, i've accumulated 3 major hobbies - SEWSNAP (photography) and DRILL (woodworking). Anyway, I always start a project w/ a LOT of enthusiasm, excitement and huge dose of PRAYER that i’ll see the end. but most of the time, I NEVER see the end. When a “project” is not turning the way I pictured it after I squeeze out a pretty good amount of my creative juices, right at that very frustrating moment, I just GIVE UP... every time! :(
But last night, the heavens opened up and sprinkled me with a dust of hope. I was reading the book Outliers by Malcolm and came across the 10,000-hr rule. According to the book, it’s what differentiates successful people from ME, the average one. Successful people spent at least 10,000 hours of practice in their chosen crafts. Then, my brain started calculating..if i’ll spend 4 hrs everyday to sew, in a year that equates to 1,460 HOURS. 10,000 / 1,460 =  6.8 or about 7 years! WOW! That’s a lot and I’m gonna be old by then. HAHAHA but heck, who cares?! hehehe LET’S DO THIS!

And I decided to do an experiment and see if a 26-yr old hopeless Me still has a chance to be a little less ordinary. The plan is to devote 3-4hrs a day to any of my hobbies, post my finished project, try to post a picture of the process and document how much time I spent on it. I’d like to add another rule. Squeeze the “process” to 3-5 steps only. So i won’t get excited and take 1,000,000 shots.  I may have started late but let’s see what happens in the coming years.

Packed with a huge bag of ENTHUSIASM and HOPE, LET’S DO THIS, Lhynx!!!  LOL!
Wish me luck! :)
